Ahmed Musa hopes to return to Europe after two years at Saudi Arabian club
Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, hopes to make a return to Europe after ending his two-year stay at Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
Al-Nassr declared Musa’s exit from the club via their Twitter page on Sunday.
“Thank you Nigerian falcon, wishing you all the best in the future,” they posted onTwitter.
Speaking with ESPN, Musa, who joined Al-Nassr in 2018 after a loan spell at Russian side CSKA Moscow, said he was in talks with a number of European clubs.
“I have enjoyed my time in the two years. that I have been here, and the club have been great to me,” Musa told ESPN.
“But I have always wanted to return to Europe, and I feel that this is the best time for me to make that move.
“I want to get back to playing at the top level again against the best players in the world.”
According to him, his agent is “talking with some clubs in Europe”.
“He knows what I want, so when there is something, I am sure he will let me know,” the 28-year-old added.
He also said he requested that his contract with Al-Nassr be terminated.
“I met with the club and requested that they should terminate my contract, and they were kind enough to agree to let me go,” he told ESPN.
