Irate mobs burn Nnamdi Azikwe’s statue in Onitsha
Sequel to the ongoing protests across the country,Irate youths in Anambra state has set ablaze the statue of the pioneer President of Nigeria, late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, at Denis Memorial Grammar School Roundabout, Awka Avenue, Onitsha.
It was revealed that the mobs were triggered by the crisis troubling the nation presently, saying the late pioneer president Nnamdi Azikwe cause the problems the country is encountering today.
As they burnt the statue, the mob were clamouring “You put us in this mess by championing one Nigeria,” “You are the cause of our trouble,” amongst other uncomplimentary remarks.
Hoodlums have hijacked the #EndSARS protests across various states in Nigeria, causing excessive destruction ,looting various government establishments, stores and sending many entrepreneurs out of business.
