N2.2bn fraud: Court permits Fayose to embark on foreign medical trip
Federal High Court, Lagos division on Friday, has permitted a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, who is being tried for alleged N2.2bn fraud, to embark on a foreign medical trip.
Justice C.J. Aneke granted the permission following an application by Fayose’s lawyer, Ola Olanipekun (SAN).
The application was not opposed by the prosecuting counsel for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN).
The judge adjourned further hearing in the case till January 22, 2021.
The EFCC is prosecuting Fayose alongside a firm, Spotless Investment Limited, for alleged N2.2bn fraud.
